Learn the basic principles of transparent watercolour
Over 4 sessions, new comers are invited to learn the basic principles of transparent watercolour. Through a combination of studio practise and homework, you will learn about the different effects and properties of mineral versus synthetic colours, composition, pictorial design, colour mixing, laying and grading washes, working wet in wet and completing a painting.
Through weekly practise, you will learn new tools and gain confidence to paint at home or on your own and gradually develop your own personal visual style. No previous experience is needed. A basic starter kit will be provided for each student including a wooden board, enough paper for the 4-week assignments, a set of paints to share and 2 brushes. You may be asked to bring a white ceramic plate for a palette, a hair dryer, paper towels etc. More information and supplies as we’ll as a sample lesson plan will follow upon registration.
